With an extraordinary 8 million views in its latest tracking period and more than 14 million total hours viewed since release, MPC Paris is proud to celebrate Troll 2 reaching number one globally for the second week running in the Top 10 Non-English Movies on Netflix. This remarkable performance underscores the film’s broad audience appeal and the power of compelling visual storytelling to transcend language and cultural barriers.
Directed by Roar Uthaug and produced by Netflix and Motion Blur, Troll 2 continues its ascent as one of the most watched international films on the platform, captivating viewers with its thrilling narrative and stunning visual spectacle.

At MPC Paris, our teams are honoured to have partnered closely with Netflix, Motion Blur, and our collaborators across multiple studios to bring key sequences of Troll 2 to life. The MPC contribution included 63 visual effects shots, realized by a dedicated group of 90 artists, producers, coordinators and technicians working in Paris. Our work encompassed a fully CGI troll featuring complex animation, CFX, lighting and detailed crowd, atmospheric and weather simulations. These efforts were instrumental in crafting the film’s immersive and photoreal environments that support the director’s bold vision.
MPC artists also delivered essential elements of the storytelling, including digitally enhanced helicopters at various stages of damage, detailed 3D environments and reconstruction of key locations such as the ski station and Stavkroa settings, and the creation of dynamic digital doubles. Extensive simulation and effects work — from snow and storm systems to large-scale destruction — helped anchor the film’s dramatic sequences and amplify emotional impact.
Cyrille Bonjean, VFX Supervisor at MPC Paris, reflects on the challenges and creative rewards of this collaboration, noting that delivering such complex, integrated visual effects sequences required precision, creative problem-solving and close coordination with the production team and other VFX partners. Our contribution to Troll 2 stands as testament to the talent and collaborative spirit of our Paris studio, and reinforces MPC’s role in shaping genre-defining visual narratives for audiences around the world.
As Troll 2 continues to break records and thrill viewers globally, MPC Paris proudly acknowledges this achievement as a milestone for international storytelling and looks forward to future opportunities to create work that resonates across cultures and platforms.
