Awarded at PIDS Enghien, the Best Environment Genie Award honors the collective expertise and creative commitment of the MPC Paris teams on L’Inconnu de la Grande Arche. Under the supervision of VFX Supervisor Lise Fischer, the environment work was led by CG Supervisor Landry De Oliveira, Environment Supervisor Christophe Courgeau, and Environment Artist Jessica Ferry, whose combined efforts focused on building visual credibility, scale and authenticity.

The challenge was not to create a spectacular Paris, but a believable one. Drawing on extensive research, historical references and a strong attention to detail, the teams reconstructed key locations and extended real sets with digital environments designed to remain invisible to the audience. The goal was always to serve the story, grounding the film in a precise time and place while preserving a natural and seamless integration with live-action footage.

The film, directed by Stéphane Demoustier, demonstrates how carefully crafted environment work can elevate storytelling by reinforcing realism and emotional impact without drawing attention to itself. This award also reflects the close collaboration between departments, from environment and CG to compositing, ensuring consistency and coherence across every shot.

MPC Paris would like to thank the Genie Awards voters for this recognition, as well as the full production team. Lise Fischer also extends her thanks to VFX Producer Loriane Lucas, CG Supervisor Florian Wolff, and Compositing Supervisor Philippe Desfretier for their essential support throughout the project.
