The Gallerist, directed by Cathy Yan and produced by MRC and MountainA, will have its world premiere at Sundance!
This cleverly incisive satire of the contemporary art world follows gallery owner Polina Polinski as she navigates the ruthless machine of art commerce while preparing for her Art Basel Miami reveal, with standout performances from Natalie Portman, Jenna Ortega, Sterling K. Brown, Zach Galifianakis, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Charli XCX.
MPC Paris created 136 VFX shots for the film, under the VFX supervision of Nikolas D’Andrade and VFX produced by Cyprien Andronikof, helping to bring the film’s vibrant and intricate world to life. The world premiere will take place on January 24 at 9:30 PM MST at the Eccles Theatre in Park City, Utah, as part of the Festival’s Premieres lineup.
We are equally delighted to support Filipiñana, the highly anticipated feature directorial debut of Rafael Manuel, which is selected in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition.
A co‑production spanning the Philippines, Singapore, the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands, Filipiñana expands on Manuel’s acclaimed 2020 short and tells the story of Isabel, a young tee girl at an elite country club who becomes drawn into a deeper and darker shared history with the club’s president. The film’s richly textured narrative and powerful performances create a haunting reflection on class, power and hidden violence beneath polished surfaces, making it a standout addition to Sundance’s international slate. Its world premiere will take place on January 23 at 2:45 PM MST at The Ray Theatre.
We extend our warmest thanks to the filmmakers and producing partners for trusting MPC Paris to contribute our visual effects expertise. It is an honor to be part of these films as they take the stage at one of the world’s most influential celebrations of independent cinema.
