Synopsis
The fates of Jean and Corinne Luchaire, a father and daughter in occupied France. She is a young movie star and he is a prominent journalist but also a friend of the powerful Nazi German ambassador to Paris, Otto Abetz.
Inspired by a true story, Les Rayons et les ombres, directed by Xavier Giannoli, follows the intertwined fate of Jean Luchaire and his daughter Corinne Luchaire, a father and daughter caught in the machinery of collaboration during World War II. The film opens in theaters on March 18.
The teams at MPC Paris delivered 163 post-production image (VFX) shots, supervised by Arnaud Fouquet and produced by Alice Neichols. The work focused primarily on period environment reconstruction, anachronism cleanup and corrections, as well as visual effects designed to faithfully recreate the film’s historical atmosphere.
