MPC completed over 180 shots bringing Nagini to life, creating digi-doubles for the polyjuice transformation sequence and carrying out extensive environment work.

Based on the first of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter novels, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone follows the story of the young Harry Potter and the magical events that unfold around him. The much-anticipated film was directed by Chris Columbus for Warner Brothers Pictures and stars Robbie Coltrane, Richard Harris, John Hurt and Dame Maggie Smith.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

MPC created 15 minutes of screen-time digital visual effects and character animation for Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, (totaling more visual effects shots than any other facility). As well as stunning effects for the movie, which was directed by Chris Columbus, MPC also created the title sequence for the film.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

MPC conceived “the Grim”, a menacing photo-real computer generated dog which haunts Harry throughout the film, a ferocious Werewolf and a return visit for the Whomping Willow. Other effects work carried out include the metamorphosis of Peter Pettigrew (Timothy Spall) from human to alter ego ‘Scabbers’ the rat and back again and the transformation of Professor Remus Lupin (David Thewlis) into the werewolf.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

David Yates directed the sixth installment of JK Rowling and Warner Bros Pictures’ Harry Potter franchise. ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’ explores Voldemort’s past as Harry starts private lessons with Professor Dumbledore in an attempt to reveal his dark secrets. MPC completed over 250 VFX shots for the astounding quidditch match, the Hogwarts train and the apparating sequence including digi-doubles, crowds and extensive cloth simulation.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

David Yates next installment in JK Rowling and Warner Bros Pictures’ adventures of Harry Potter. ‘The Order of the Phoenix’ shows Harry and friends under the instruction of a new Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher. MPC has completed various types of VFX for a number of key sequences. These include fire effects for fireworks, the marble staircase and more fire and the breathtaking climactic atrium battle featuring the Fire serpent and water prison. The team once again carried out Voldemort’s digital nose job and extensive set extensions.
